Unlocking your mobile broadband device

If your mobile broadband device has a PIN, it will be automatically locked when you turn off your computer, go into sleep mode, or remove a data card from your computer. The next time you start your computer, resume from hibernation, or insert a data card, the status of your device will display as <;Device Locked”. Follow these steps to unlock it:

View the list of available networks by swiping from the right edge of the screen to the middle and clicking “Settings> (If you use the mouse, point to the top right corner of the screen , then move the pointer down, click “Set”), and then tap or click the network icon.

Click or click the name of your mobile broadband connection, then tap or click “Connect”.

Enter your PIN and tap or click “OK”.

Unblocking Mobile Broadband Devices

When a mobile broadband device is blocked, it cannot be unlocked using a PIN. The status of the device will be displayed as “ Blocked & rdquo;. To unblock a device, you must enter the Unblocking Key (sometimes called a PUK) obtained from your mobile broadband provider. You will also need to create a new PIN during the unblock process. Follow these steps to unblock your device:

View a list of available networks by swiping from the right edge of the screen to the middle and clicking “Settings> (If you use the mouse, point to the top right corner of the screen. Then move the pointer down, click “Set”), then tap or click the network icon.

Long press or right click on the mobile broadband network, tap or click “View Connection Properties", and then tap or click the "Security" tab.

Click or click “Unblock Device”.

Enter the Unblock Key, enter and verify the new PIN, and then tap or click “Unblock Device”.
