Win8 Tip: Perfectly reset ClearType

System users must have found that since the Win7 system, there is a ClearType function, this function can better make the text clear, but the use is not good and counterproductive, the writing is coming The more blurred. Now that this function is still stored in the Win8 system, how can we better reset the ClearType settings?

In the Win8 system, the system's ClearType text tuner, its interface is as shown below. Show:

However, I believe that in the position shown in the second picture, many people are as confused as I am. After the adjustment, I found that the display effect is not as good as adjustment.

How to restore it? This is a difficult problem. After some searches, including some foreign forums, most people have not found a solution. Some people say that they can be re-elected in a certain order. I tried, in fact, this still can not be restored. Moreover, even if different monitors are connected to the same PC, the procedures and steps for selecting the clearest text may be different. (I am like this.)

How should I reset the settings? It seems that only analysis. With ProcMon, unsuccessful, the specific reasons have yet to be verified. However, by searching the developer's resources, I found some information about the screen settings on MSDN. After consulting and experimenting, I finally confirmed that I can reset the ClearType settings by modifying the two locations of the registry: (we use two monitors Take a PC as an example; you must develop a backup before you perform the registry operation.)

1. Go to the registry HKCU\\Software\\Microsoft\\Avalon.Graphics. Below, there are several monitors. How many keys are named DISPLAY1, DISPLAY2, …, DISPLAYn. All we need to do is click on each of the DISPLAYx keys and delete all the keys on the right side (except for the default " Normally, the ClearType tuning should not look like this:

2. Go to the registry HKCU\\Control Panel\\Desktop. Below, find four key values starting with FontSmoothing, set to 2,0 respectively. , 1, 2 can be.

3. Log out of the currently logged in user and log back in to restore the settings and reset the adjustments made by the ClearType tuner to the system default state.

Smart system users can see here that the ClearType of the interface is the settings associated with each user. This is reasonable because each user sees the effect of the screen text differently, and there should be a personalized preference for each user to save. Therefore, we hope that the new system will improve the function of this tuner, making it more practical and more user-friendly and easy to operate.
