Windows 8 revolutionary innovation for the enterprise

You may have heard of Windows 8 revolutionizing Windows, and for business users, this is even more true. You may have realized and felt that the way people work is undergoing tremendous changes. Today, people's requirements for equipment flexibility and mobility have reached unprecedented heights, while at the same time enterprises have requirements for reliability, work efficiency and safety. It is also facing unprecedented challenges. We took these needs into consideration when redesigning Windows, and Windows 8 will not only simplify your day-to-day work, but also enjoy the basic features. If you haven't acted yet, I highly recommend downloading the Windows 8 Consumer Preview to see for yourself how Windows 8 can deliver a beautiful, fast, and smooth experience while meeting the mobility, performance and security that your business needs.

Imagine if you don't have to trade off the convenience of your tablet and the productivity of your PC.

I have heard many people complain that they must balance the productivity of their PCs with the convenience of their tablets. Our goal is to provide a solution that is “not inferior”, so you don't have to choose between productivity and convenience. With the new Metro style interface in Windows 8, you get the same great experience, whether you're using a touch device, a mouse or a keyboard. This will be a highly personalized, fast and fluid experience. You can use all your existing Win7 production and business-related applications and leverage your existing infrastructure to manage, secure and support Windows 8 tablets.

Imagine if you can put a reliable business PC in your pocket.

We talked at the build conference that the IT department can provide users with Windows To Go, a fully managed enterprise Windows 8 desktop powered by an external USB drive. With Windows To Go, users can launch from any PC (whether connected or not) anytime, anywhere (whether in the workplace or at home). It's like carrying a reliable corporate PC with you. This means that employees can move lightly without sacrificing productivity, and IT departments can adapt to the trend of bringing their own PCs, while allowing businesses to allow temporary employees to access the corporate environment while maintaining security.

Whenever I talk to the user about Windows To Go, some new situations will always come to my mind, for example, how can Windows To Go work in disaster recovery or telecommuting, and how Contribute to specific industries such as military or education. I look forward to receiving feedback on how your business uses Windows To Go, and I am confident that this feature will provide new possibilities for enterprise mobile productivity.

Imagine the full security from start to finish.

From boot to shutdown, Windows 8 will provide you with a more reliable infrastructure anytime, anywhere. With reliable startup, measurement of the boot process, BitLocker Drive Encryption, AppLocker, and claims-based access control, Windows 8 delivers an unprecedented end-to-end security experience.

Reliable startup is one of my favorite new features in Windows 8. The Windows 8 boot process has helped protect PCs from malware or viruses through secure signing and methods. A reliable boot verifies the integrity of the entire boot process, including hardware, boot loader, kernel, boot-related system files, and drivers. The malware protection program is preloaded before all non-critical Windows components. This means that malware such as rootkits will have difficulty hijacking the boot process or escaping the detection of malware protection programs.

Imagine a virtual environment like a fat client experience.

We have heard that many companies are considering using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to help centrally manage thin clients, providing end users with accessibility and familiar desktop experiences anytime, anywhere, while improving the entire enterprise. Data security within the scope. However, adopting VDI can present some challenges, such as unsatisfactory user experience, difficulty implementing, or costly storage. We redesigned VDI in Windows 8 to provide more functionality and solve these problems. Users will get a virtual experience similar to the fat client experience, including high-resolution graphics with full touch support, superior performance, and native USB device support. In addition, IT departments can implement VDI infrastructure in a more cost-effective and manageable way.

What does this mean for the company's current development and plans to deploy Win7.

Considering that we are about to end support for Windows XP, Windows 7 will immediately provide you with the value. If you have not accelerated the speed of Windows 7 deployment, we recommend that you proceed immediately. Some useful information about Windows 7 deployment planning is available on our Windows Enterprise Resources and Tools website and in the Springboard Series on TechNet. The application compatibility investment required to migrate from Windows XP to Windows 7 will be forward compatible and continue to work with Win8.

This blog post only covers the tip of the iceberg in Windows 8's many exciting features. Windows 8 has more features that are valuable to the enterprise and compatible with existing Windows 7 environments. If you'd like to learn more about Windows 8, I suggest you check out the Enterprise Product Guide for more details, and I encourage you to experience the Windows 8 Consumer Preview in person, I believe you'll love this new version of Windows, and at the same time I am also looking forward to receiving more comments and suggestions on corporate enhancements and innovations.
