Teach you to modify the number of tiles on the Win8 Metro start screen.

Win8's Metro start screen displays the application's shortcuts as tiles. By clicking on the tile, we can quickly access the app. By default, the system displays the number of rows of the default tile based on the resolution of the screen.

The small series uses a 15-inch notebook with a resolution of 1440 X 900, so the default tile number is 5.

If your resolution reaches 1920 X 1200, and you think the default tile shows too few rows, you can display more tile rows by the following method.
Open the Charm toolbar with the Win+C key combination on the Metro start screen - Settings - Tiles - Show more tiles
If you want to increase or decrease the number of tiles, feel free to Make changes by using the registry method.
Win+R opens, enter regedit to open the registry, locate the address HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\ImmersiveShell\\Grid

New DWord (32-bit), rename it to Layout_Maximumrowcount, Enter the number of rows of tiles you need to modify in the numeric data. The following figure edits the number of tiles to 3

Note: Whether you are a 64-bit Win8 system or a 32-bit Win8 system, please choose New DWord (32-bit); The rate has the maximum and minimum values of its corresponding tile row number, which can only be set within this range. For the specific range, please refer to the first figure.
After modifying the registry and saving it, log out and log back in or restart the computer to see the effect.
