Don't be misled by the habit! Take you to know the real Windows8 (2)

Misunderstanding 4. Task switching is inconvenient

Many netizens are confused about the task switching of the Metro interface, yes! Switching a program does seem a bit cumbersome in the Metro interface without the taskbar. But the author is still the same sentence, don't forget that Win8 is an operating system developed specifically for touch screens. In a computer without a touch screen, the operating experience is indeed much worse, but we can still make the task switch through some simple settings. Smooth.

Figure 5 Win8 task switching is indeed very "potholes"

This method is Win8's latest "split screen", simply put the screen into two pieces, one side shows an application . And its biggest highlight is that when a split screen size is not enough, more space is needed, Win8 will automatically convert the program in the screen into thumbnail mode, and the final effect is actually the traditional Win7
task. The bar is very close!

Misunderstanding 5. Win8 login must be connected to the network

This question first originated from a new feature of Win8. That is, with the user's Windows Live account, "cloud save" and "cloud roaming" can be performed on their personal configuration. Although the starting point of the function is good, but because Microsoft
always wants to scream every time (the default account is Windows Live when the system is installed), causing many first-time users to think that using Win8 must be connected. In fact, in addition to Windows Live, Win8 can also set up a local account. And even if the user has already established a Windows Live account, but the login environment does not have a network, then it is also possible for the user to log in normally without any delay in the normal use of the user.

Figure 7 Win8 supports both local and network account modes

Misunderstanding 6. Why does the task manager change "core"

Many netizens said that Win8 task management The device is too ugly, and the interface is too professional. In fact, this may be related to the fact that most review articles use "complex mode" for display by default. In fact, in Windows 8, Microsoft
has designed two sets of interfaces for different users , which are relatively simple "simple" interface and the most versatile "complex" interface. . The compact mode has the fewest functions, and only provides task display and one-click abort operation. The complex mode brings more functions. In addition to the traditional process management, user management, CPU, hard disk, network monitoring, etc. are also a major point of view. This is largely based on the "resource monitor". design.

Figure 8 Win8 Task Manager "concise" mode

Complex mode integrates most of the original "resource monitor" function, can provide users with intuitive report information. But its biggest highlight is that the monitor panel can display the most appropriate display mode according to different environments.

For example, the CPU curve must be familiar to everyone, although at first glance there is no difference between the task manager and Win7, but if we increase the core of the processor by 80 times, then... It soon appeared. Win8 will intelligently use the color block + number to clearly mark the working status of each logical processor, but the old version of the task manager does not have this function.

Misunderstanding 7. Win8 is only suitable for Touch screen

Don't think Win8 is just for touch screen design. Although Metro style has the advantage of touch everywhere, the new system also has not forgotten to add keyboard
shortcut key. However, because the number of shortcut keys is really huge, what is given here is only some common items of the Win8 system.

Figure 11 Win8 also has a wealth of shortcuts

* Win+Y: Quick preview of traditional desktop (Metro, traditional desktop universal)

* Win+P: Switch external Monitor
/TV
(Metro, Legacy Desktop)

* PageUP/Down: Move between different sections of Metro (Metro only)

* Win+Tab: Cycle through the currently open applications (Metro only)

* Win+I: Quickly activate the system menu (Metro, traditional desktop common)

* Win+Space: Switch input method
language (Metro, traditional desktop universal)

* Win+D: Quickly minimize all programs to display desktop (traditional desktop only)

* Win +L: Lock the current computer (Metro, traditional desktop universal)

* Win+F: Quickly enter the search panel (traditional desktop only, Metro interface does not need!)

* Win+R : Quickly bring up the "Run" dialog box (Metro, traditional desktop common)

* Alt+Tab: Cycle through the last two programs (Metro, traditional desktop common)

Misunderstanding 8. The new interface is not suitable for mouse and keyboard operations

Although I have repeatedly stated that Win8 is not just for touch, but in the current developer preview, the mouse and keyboard operation is indeed inconvenient. In particular, the design of the Metro interface is automatically activated every time the phone is turned on, which makes the users who are used to the traditional desktop operation feel depressed. Although I have already started to design a new solution from the author's current information, but far from being thirsty, if you are not used to the Metro interface, you may want to enter the registry editor, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion The "RPEnabled" key value under \\Explorer is changed from the default "1" to "0". OK! Try restarting your computer and you will find that the "annoying" Metro is gone!

Note: This setting is actually completely disabled Metro (start menu is restored to Win7 style), and can not be started by command, in order to experience Metro must be restored Registry value, remember!

Written in the end

In short, Win8 brings us a whole new set of operating concepts, although it is still too early to evaluate, but the general direction has clearly been determined. Of course, as an early preview version, there are still many shortcomings in the current Windows 8. But as an IT worker, putting the intrinsic thinking into a new system may be the biggest problem.
