How to make the Win8 patch restart after restarting

Friends who use Win8 system do not know if they have noticed that whenever Win8 updates the patch, it will not pop up the request to restart immediately after it is automatically installed. The login screen tells you to restart after 3 days to complete the installation of important updates. This usually leads to a delay in patch installation. Maybe when the patch prompts you have been posted for several days, how can we restart the Win8 patch as soon as it is updated? Let's teach this tip today. for everyone.

If you are using a desktop computer, the shutdown time can see & ldquo; update and restart & rdquo; prompt, if a laptop user, usually not how the shutdown (simply close the screen allow the system Sleep standby), it is even easier to restart the update patch in time. So we need some means of solution.

before operation, our Win8 system need to update a patch: KB2822241, this patch was released last week, if nothing else, then you should have marked this patch. If not, check the update directly through the Win8 update.

Once you have installed this update also need to modify the registry file.

1. Press [Win+R] to start the “Run” box, enter regedit to run the registry editor;

2. Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Policies\\Microsoft\\Windows \\WindowsUpdate\\AU;

Note: If you do not have WindowsUpdate and AU, you need to create these two items manually.

3, in the right panel of the AU item, find "AlwaysAutoRebootAtScheduledTime", if not, also manually create a DWORD and rename it.

4, double-click the DWORD, its value data is changed to & ldquo; 1 & rdquo ;.

5. Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer once you are done.

Of course, we can also understand why the update patch hints for Windows are extremely inconspicuous. From the perspective of the user, the user is less likely to experience less interference in the system update. So after the modification, every time Win8 installs the important update, it will pop up the 15-minute countdown restart notification immediately, instead of waiting for 3 days to notify you, but if you don't need to pop up the notification immediately, just put the above registry value. Change to 0 to revert to the default settings. After learning this little trick, you can be sure that our computers are always up-to-date without being disrupted by various vulnerabilities.
