How to use Windows 8.1 view reorganization

Windows 8.1 optimizes the view of system files. If we can make full use of the various file view functions provided by the system, the file management and processing efficiency will be greatly improved.

1. Book index file reorganization

Everyone must be impressed with the keyword index behind some books! They generally put all the keys in the order of 0-9 digits and A~Z letters. Words are arranged so that when we want to look up a keyword, we can quickly narrow down the scope and quickly find the project we need. In fact, in Windows 8.1 Explorer, we can also manage files in this way.

Open a folder in the File Explorer, switch to the "View" tab, click the "Details" button in the "Layout" group, and then from the “ group by ” Select ""Name" in the list, so that we can immediately see that the list of files in the Explorer is displayed numerically and alphabetically. This way, you can find a file and you can see it at a glance.

Tip:

We can not only reorganize file lists by book index, but also index categories. It is not limited to the file name. By using the "group by" option, we can sort files by their own grouping, such as by file generation and modification date, file type or size, file author and other information. Groups can be arranged in increments or decrements.

Tips:

How do I revert to the original ungrouping mode after grouping? After the files are grouped in any way, there will be one more in the "group by&" “No & rdquo; options, select this to restore files to non-grouping.

2. Combination of vertical and horizontal filtering

If we only need to display a specific type of file in a folder, and only need to display the specific attribute items of these files, how to filter What??

First of all, vertical screening. If we only want to display the office documents of the TXT, WPS, PDF, DOC and other categories in the current folder, other types of files will be blocked. We only need to use the “type” in the file list with detailed information. Click on its small arrow icon and select all the file types we need from the drop-down list so that the eligible files are filtered out.

(Figure 2: Filtering filter files by type)

Then perform horizontal filtering. Suppose we need to display five items of information such as the file name, modification date, type, size, and creation date. At this time, we need to right-click on the title bar of the file list, and then select the project you want from the menu popped up, and remove the items you don't need. If there are no items in the list that you need, click on the &&quoquo;other” item and the system will list more items to choose from.

Tip:

The file list shows the increase or decrease of attribute items, and you can also view the current view by “ ““Add column” drop-down list implementation. If the item you need does not appear in the list, you can select more items by clicking the “Select Column” item activation detail display window.

3. Folder View Cloning Reorganization

Viewing Files Everyone has their own different preferences. Old people may like to display images with oversized icons, and programmers may only care about a detailed list of images. The default display mode provided by the system is only a fixed one, so when we open different files, in order to switch to the style we like, we need to set the style of the list repeatedly. So, how do you manage the folder view style according to your personal preferences?

To achieve this, we can first select and open a sample folder, and set the icon arrangement style to the style we want, for example set to “large icon”. Then switch to the File Explorer window “ View & rdquo; tab page, click the right side of the "Options" button to open the "folder options" window, switch to the "View" tab, click & ldquo ; folder view & rdquo; grouped under the "Apply to Folders" button, so that you can apply all the same files in the style of the template folder. After opening the same folder again, the display mode of the template folder will continue.

Tip:

In the list of files displayed in a detailed list, sometimes due to file items Unreasonable width setting causes incomplete display of file items or excessive display space. At this point, you can automatically adjust the width of the item to the optimal width by double-clicking the dividing line between the two items. If you want to adjust the width of all columns to the appropriate position at once, click the “Adjust all columns to the appropriate size" option in the “View” tab.

4. Metro List View Inverted Reorganization

As you know, in the Windows 8.1 Metro interface program list, the program view list of the Metro application is listed first. The traditional applications that we are already familiar with are all placed in the position of “backward”. So, if we often use a list of traditional applications, we want to arrange them in the front, can we achieve it?

We can use the Group Policy Editor to complete the list of traditional programs and the list of Metro applications. transposition. Right-click the "Start” button and click on “Run" in the shortcut menu, enter the GPEDIT.MSC command and confirm. In the local Group Policy Editor, navigate to “User Configuration & Rarr;Administrative Templates & Rarr;Start Menu and Taskbar”, find the desktop application in the application window, and double-click and select Click the “Enabled” button.

We simply activate the app list on the left side of the screen and drag the way to re-arrange the app's split screen layout.
