In the Win8 system, a new feature of File History has backup and restore capabilities for protecting files. Many new users of Win8 system may not know how to restore files. The following small series will explain the solution.

The method is as follows:

Enable File History function in Win8

Open “Control Panel →System and Security→File History" in Win8 system, The “File History” appears. First, set the save location of the file copy, click “Use Network Location”, select the folder of the computer on the network in the pop-up dialog box, click “Select Folder” and then select Go back to the "File History" panel and click the "Enable" button. In the pop-up dialog box, select “Yes>, then <;File History" is enabled.

After enabling “file history”, we may make more settings through the options on the left side of the "File History" panel, in the advanced settings you can set the time interval for saving the copy of the file.

Recovering files via File History

If your files are missing or deleted by mistake, to restore the files, select the "Restore personal files" option on the left of File History. Find the file you want in the panel, right click and select “Restore” or “Revert to ”, just like “Save” or “Save as ”
