In addition, we will also talk about another Metro app: Mail.

How to open IE10 in Metro version

I believe that many friends have found that the Metro version of IE10 that can be used normally can only be opened in the desktop version after a certain day. Of course this It's not a system error, it's caused by the default browser. If IE10 is not the default browser under the current computer, then IE10 will not be able to open the Metro version.

Metro version of the IE10 icon

Found the reason, we will talk about the method below, just change the default browser back. First we open the desktop version of IE10, then select the IE option in the tool and switch to the "Programs" tab.

Here we see the option to set IE as the default browser. After clicking, we can see the program settings interface. The operation here is no different from IE9.

Set IE as the default browser

Find “Internt Explorer” in the left column of the default program settings interface, then click on the right side of the program to set this program to the default value ”, Finally click on OK.

Default Program Settings Screen

When all the bullet boxes are confirmed, then switch to the start screen and you will find that the IE10 icon has become the Metro version of the White Logo. Start using the Metro version of IE10 now.

However, one thing to note is that if IE10 is set as the default browser, the Metro version of other browsers will not open, and it can only be opened as a desktop version.

Basic settings for mail application

The mail application in the start interface is built-in by default when Win8 is installed. Through this application, we can more easily check and send your own mail. This is convenient in the absence of Office Outlook, because there is no need to switch between multiple mailboxes in each web version.

Mail Application

If you log in to Win8 through your Microsoft account, you will open your Microsoft Mailbox directly without opening it again when you open your mailbox. Here we mainly introduce the operation of sending mail and account management.

Click on the “+” in the upper right corner to enter the email delivery interface. The right half is the recipient's information, and the right half is the specific email content, including the email's title.

Creating a new message

At this point, we will find that there are more tools available for right-clicking, including font settings, various expressions, and the ability to add attachments. When we added the attachment, we entered Metro's file manager and even sent SkyDrive's cloud files directly.

Let's talk about the management of the account. Slide the mouse to the lower right corner of the screen to bring up the Charm column and select “Settings”.
