How to do Win8 disk drive number lost

  

Win8 disk drive number is lost as follows:

Due to virus or misuse, the disk drive letter may be lost under the system and cannot be found in the computer. Open the partition, which is usually the case by reassigning the drive letter in disk management.

Operation steps:

1. Use the shortcut key Win + X to open the system tool shortcut menu and select disk management.

2. Open the Disk Management window.

3. From the list of disks, find the drive without the drive letter assigned, right click on the partition and select “change the drive letter and path”.

4. Eject the drive path change window and click “Add”.

5. In the "Add Drive Letter and Path" window, select the drive letter you want to assign to the partition or drive and click OK.

Note: Only unoccupied drive letters can be assigned at this time. If the drive letter is occupied by other partitions, the drive letter must be deleted before it can be reassigned.

6. Add a drive letter Click OK, the following prompt will pop up at the top right of the screen:

7. After clicking the prompt, you will be prompted to open the drive using Windows Explorer.

8. Turn on your computer and you will see the previously lost partition or drive. The problem is solved.

Note:

If you add a drive letter immediately after the drive letter is lost or deleted, the prompt in action 6 may not appear.
