Win8 system does not recognize the optical drive solution

  

Unrecognized optical drive (CD-ROM) in Win8 system, or display drive damage in "device manager" What should we do? We can try to uninstall/install the driver again. But if it is not useful? The following small series introduces a solution with a high success rate!

The problem may be caused by incorrect key values ​​in the registry. Please refer to the following steps to solve: < Br>

1. Press Win+R, type Regedt32.exe, press Enter, open the Registry Editor.

2. Find the following key values:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-----SYSTEM--CurrentControlSet-----Control----Class------{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

3. Locate and delete UpperFilters and LowerFilters in the box on the right (see UpperFilters and LowerFilters in the box shown below)

4. Restart the computer. See if the Win8 system can recognize the optical drive.
