How to add a network location to Win8 System Explorer

  

In Win8, we can add ”network location> to the resource manager to better manage network resources. The following is a small series to introduce the specific operation methods for everyone.

1. First show you the resource manager without adding "network location";

2. Now add a network location to add an FTP site as an example. Right-click in the blank of the resource management and click “Add a network location”.

3. At this time, open “Add Network Location Wizard", and then click “Next”.

4. Select “Select Custom Network Location", and then click “Next”.

5. Specify the location of the website, enter the Internet address or network address, and then click “Next”.

6.FTP can log in anonymously or log in with username and password, which can be selected according to the actual situation. Here is an anonymous login for everyone to demonstrate, select "Anonymous login" (default is selected), and then click "Next". If you log in with your username, you can uncheck the checkbox in the "Anonymous login" dialog box and follow the prompts to enter your username and password.

7. Give the added network location a name, such as "FTP site" (can be selected according to the actual situation), and then click "Next".

8. Now click “Complete> to complete the creation of the network location.

9. When you open the Explorer again, you will find the added "network location", as shown below.
