Symptom:

Windows 8 How to switch between a local account and a Microsoft account

Solution:

First, move your mouse to the top right corner of the desktop or In the lower right corner, select “Settings> in the Super Menu, as shown below:

Select “Change Computer Settings from the pop-up menu. ”, as shown below:

In the open "Computer Settings", select "Users" in the left category, select "“ Switch to Microsoft Account"; Figure order AB

Enter your Microsoft account in the newly opened interface. After inputting, click “Next”, please refer to the following figure.

Note: If you do not have a Microsoft account, you can create a new Microsoft account by referring to the location in the following figure.

After a while, the following picture will appear. Please enter your Password, and check if the account password matches. After inputting, click “Next”;

Wait a moment, the link is successful, we choose “Complete”.

Please note: When switching to a Microsoft account, each time you turn it on, you need to enter the Microsoft account password you set to log in. You cannot log in to the system using the password set by the local account.

Wait patiently for the setup to complete.

Here's how to switch the Microsoft account to the local account, still open “Computer Settings - User”, as shown below, select “Switch to local account”

After entering the Microsoft password that has been logged in, click “Next”, as shown below:

Set the local account name after disconnecting the Microsoft account here. After setting, click “Next”, The figure below is for reference.

When the following situation occurs, please select “logout and complete”, the system will make the relevant settings, and then log out, all we have to do is wait for the logout and log back in to the user.

Please note: After switching from Microsoft account to local account, you need to enter the local account password you set (if set) to log in. You can't log in to the system using the password of the original Microsoft account.
