WAN mini port (network monitor) appears yellow exclamation point solution

  

After installing the system of WIN8, the WAN mini port (network monitor) in the device manager will have a yellow exclamation mark, which affects the normal network function. As shown below:

Solution:

Once this happens, you can temporarily delete this item in the following way.

1 Press the Windows and R keys simultaneously, type REGEDIT, and click OK to open the Registry Editor. (Warning: “Registry Editor” may cause serious problems and may require reinstallation of the operating system. It is recommended to back up the registry in advance, and back up important computer data before operation to avoid accidents that may not enter the system during operation. Computer Data)

2 Locate the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

There will be several four digits underneath The constituent children are shown in the figure

3 Please find each sub-item one by one and find the sub-items of the “DriverDesc” value on the right side of the “WAN miniport (network monitor)”. Note that there may be more than one. (Be careful to look carefully and accurately. If you modify the normal project, it may affect the normal network connection.)

4 Change the value of the “Characteristics” value in each found sub-item from 29 to 9. Record the modified four-digit project name. Restore the settings after the operation is completed.

5Open the device manager again and right click on the "wan miniport" project to uninstall.

6 Return to the registry and restore the previously modified project to 29. Complete the operation.
