Microsoft Threshold plans or bring back the start menu for Win8.1

“Threshold” is the development plan of the Microsoft integrated operating system engineering team, involving the latest updates of Windows systems. Recently, some details about the Threshold program began to be gradually exposed, such as the return of the start menu in the Win8 system and allowing the user to run the Modern application in the desktop window.

The latest news revealed that Microsoft may bring back the full start button experience. Microsoft watcher Paul Thurott said that the next update to Windows will re-launch the familiar start menu. And Win8.1 only added a start button that lacks the start menu to compare, which would be a major change.

Another new feature is to allow users to run Modern applications in the desktop window. Although this feature can now be implemented with third-party applications such as Modern Mix, the native built-in functionality of Windows should make users more satisfied.

Microsoft Threshold Program:

“Threshold” is the development plan of Microsoft's integrated operating system engineering team. Threshold upgrade will involve three platforms based on Windows NT kernel. Xbox One, Windows and Windows Phone, this upgrade will promote the further integration of the three platforms, making them more common. Experts expect the Threshold program to be completed in 2015.

These new features are minor but very important changes that are derived from Microsoft's emphasis on user feedback.
