Win8.1 deeply integrates Skype or cancels Messaging application

According to foreign media The Verge, an anonymous person disclosed that the final version of Windows 8.1 will no longer integrate the Messaging application, and Skype will replace it. It is reported that Skype has been integrated into Windows 8 in advance a few days before its official release.

If this news is true, then this will be an important step for Microsoft to deeply integrate Skype. Microsoft acquired Skype in October 2011 and gradually integrated Skype into its own projects. Earlier this year, Microsoft replaced Skype with Windows Live Messenger (MSN), and in the Xbox One, which was officially launched in November this year, Skype will also become its main chat interface.

Messaging integrates Microsoft's own applications developed in October 2012 when Microsoft released Windows 8 operating system, but has just released a preview version of Windows 8.1, this application has disappeared.

In addition, Microsoft recently combined Skype with its commercial software Lync for the first time to achieve cross-communication between the two.
