Identifying foreign devices, win2003 has a trick

Windows Server 2003 is Microsoft's server operating system for building and storing web applications, web pages and XMLWeb Services. In terms of use, many aspects are good, but there is a little Users are more embarrassed, that is, when using different USB flash drives or hard disks that are already in existence when the system is installed, sometimes it can be recognized, and sometimes it is not recognized.

For example, after we connect a model USB flash drive or a hard disk to the machine, the hard disk also turns, and the USB flash drive lights up, but I can't see it in my computer, of course I can't operate it. And the USB flash drive or hard disk we joined is good. How to deal with this situation is good?

In fact, it is easy to make Windows Server 2003 recognize USB flash drive or mobile hard disk. The method is to open the [Start] menu & mdash; control panel & mdash; management tools & mdash; computer management, in the left side of the computer management window, select disk management, the same capacity will appear on the right side of the window "good" (active) & rdquo; with USB or mobile hard drive is listed by the system.

Right click on the newly discovered device icon of "Good (Active)" and select "Change drive letter and path (C)" to pop up the window shown in Figure 1. There is nothing in it (an offline state).

Click on "Add" in the window, the window shown in Figure 2 pops up, select the destination drive letter from the combo drop-down menu on the right side of the window (general selection) The first one is also the default drive letter. Then click the [OK] button and the system will automatically add the mobile storage device.

At this point, if you go back to the first step and select "Change drive letter and path (C)", you can see that the original window has a new one. The drive letter (the storage device is activated), this drive letter is the USB flash drive or hard disk just accessed. Open [My Computer] and find that the USB flash drive or hard disk has appeared, and it can be used in a generous manner.
