How to hide win10 defender

Windows 10 has been integrated with the Windows Defender security application since its release, but many users haven't noticed it at all. In order to make the security protection more obvious, Microsoft listed the Windows Defender icon in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to the taskbar notification area for user convenience.

Disabling the taskbar icon does not affect the normal operation of Windows Defender, it will still protect the system in the background, you can normally pass the "Settings" & mdash; "Update and Security" & mdash; "Windows Defender or search for Windows Defender in the Start menu to open it. Once malware is detected, there will be a corresponding notification prompt. In short, we just hide the icon of its taskbar, and its original function is business as usual.

The only thing you need to pay attention to is that with the taskbar icon we can quickly determine if Windows Defender is running silently in the background. If you have other third-party anti-virus software installed and you have not enabled Windows Defender's Limited Periodic Scan feature, the taskbar icon will not be displayed.

Hide Windows Defender Taskbar Icons

At present, users cannot select to show or hide the Windows Defender icon by right clicking on the taskbar, but by "Task Manager" & mdash; The "Windows Defender notifiction icon" entry in the tab is disabled and you can close the Windows Defender taskbar icon to start with the system login.

Disabling this entry only hides the display of icons in the Windows 10 taskbar notification area, and Windows Defender will still start with the system and run in the background. For professional users with certain technical capabilities, you can also use Autoruns to disable Windows Defender notifiction icon to load with the system login.

The above changes will only take effect the next time the user logs in to the system. If you do not want to log out or restart the system, killing the process directly in the Task Manager will be OK.

Restore the Windows Defender taskbar icon

If necessary, we can restore the Windows Defender icon in the taskbar at any time, and re-create the Task Manager — The "Windows Defender notifiction icon" entry in the tab is enabled.

If you want to log out of the system immediately, you can execute the following Exe file in "Run" (Windows + R):

"C:\\Program Files\\Windows Defender\\MSASCuil .exe "
