Making a USB Boot Disk Installing Win7/Win8 Detailed Process

Booting from a USB installation system is similar to booting a system from a CD. This is the most flexible installation method, no matter which version of the system you are using or simply does not have any operating system installed. This installation method can be used as long as the motherboard supports booting from USB.
This method is suitable for installation in BIOS (Legacy) mode: Win7 (32-bit or 64-bit), Win8 (32-bit or 64-bit) operating system. Suitable for single or dual systems.
How to distinguish my computer
which mode?
The computer with pre-installed Win8 is UEFI mode by default. The non-preinstalled Win8 computer defaults to BIOS (Legacy) mode. Of course, these two modes can be switched (if the computer supports both modes). The method in this paper is also applicable to the installation of Win7 (64-bit) and Win8 (64-bit) operating systems in UEFI mode. Just pay attention to the need to add efi boot files when installing Win7 (64 bit).
The following is the specific operation process of installing Win7/Win8 in BIOS (Legacy) mode. Here, the floppy disk is used as a tool for making a USB installation disk, and a full explanation is given by installing Win8 as an example. Of course, in addition to the soft disk pass you have many options, the process of installing Win7 is exactly the same, but the final setup process is a bit different, but it is easier than installing Win8.
Tools to be prepared:
1, USB installation disk creation tool —— floppy disk (download floppy disk)
2, empty U disk with a capacity of not less than 4G
3, ISO system image (must be the original system)
The whole process is divided into three steps:
1, make USB installation disk
2, restart from USB boot, enter the installation environment
3, complete system installation
(1) Make a USB installation disk.
1. Run the floppy disk as an administrator (method: right click on the floppy disk icon, select “run as administrator"), and then click “file”—— “Open”, select and open the ISO image you downloaded. As shown below.

2, click "Start" "Start”——“Write Hard Disk Image", select your USB flash drive in the "Hard Drive" (Do not choose wrong!), and finally click Write. Click “Write” will pop up the "Prompt" window, prompting you to delete all data on the U disk, please do a data backup. Click “ is & rdquo;

The software then starts to write the image to the USB flash drive, waiting for the prompt "burning success", as shown below.

(2) Boot from USB, enter the installation environment
Do not unplug the USB disk after making the USB installation disk, directly restart the computer and select to boot from USB to enter the installation environment. General brand machines, such as Lenovo, Dell, etc., have shortcut keys to select the boot media. When the display shows the brand logo, press F12 (the shortcut keys of other brands can be searched on Network
). Then select USB or Removable similar options in the list to boot from USB, as shown below

If there is no shortcut, you can press DEL, F2, ESC and other buttons when the brand logo appears on the display. BIOS setting interface, find Boot related settings in the BIOS settings, set the USB or Removable option to the first boot option, and finally press F10 to save and exit. As shown in the figure below (there is no difference in the computer).

(3) Complete system installation
Reboot will automatically start from USB and enter the installation environment. The following process is very simple.

Top: Click on <;Format" to format the selected target partition.
Note 1: If you install to the partition where the current system is located, there is only one system after the installation is completed. If you do not perform any operations on the partition where the current system is located, but install the system to other partitions, then after the installation is completed, it will form a dual system, that is, the original system + the newly installed system. Note 2: If you are prompted to disk as a GPT partition, then you need to convert the disk to an MBR partition. You can try to delete all partitions and then re-create the partition, or bring up the command prompt and use the diskpart command line tool to complete the conversion. . The shortcut key for the command prompt is: Shift+F10 or Shift+Fn+F10 on the current interface. Note that using this method to convert the disk will lose all files on the entire hard disk! Please do a backup in advance.
After choosing a partition, the next step.
