How can I prevent browsers on my computer from automatically upgrading to IE10?

Microsoft has updated IE, but many people are still accustomed to IE8. If you enable automatic check for updates and install this option, then it will be automatically upgraded. If you do not enable this feature, some important updates will not be possible and it is difficult to choose. Here's how to set up prohibiting automatic update to IE10.

Operation steps

Press Win+R on the keyboard, open the run dialog, type regedit, OK, open the registry editor .

Expand to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Internet Explorer\\Setup\\10.0] as shown below.

If you don't see the Setup folder, create it in the Internet Explorer folder and rename it to ”Setup”. Similarly, right-click on the "Setup" option and select the "New" >— item. And rename “new item #1” to ”10.0”.

Double-click the 10.0 folder and create a new DWORD (32-bit) value (D) in the panel on the right.

Rename the newly created value to DoNotAllowIE10, double click, pop up the edit dialog box, change the data value to 1, and confirm.

Restart the computer and let the settings take effect, so we will disable the installation of IE10.
