August 1st news, in recent years, Microsoft and Linux are more and more intimate, many Microsoft products are beginning to support Linux systems. At the Node Summit last week, Microsoft announced that ChakraCore, an open source JavaScript engine, has added support for Linux and Apple MacOS.

ChakraCore is an open source version of Chakra's latest operating system Win10 built-in Edge browser and the JavaScript engine Chakra used by the UWP platform. It is a stand-alone JS virtual machine that can be embedded into derivative products. Microsoft said that the non-Windows platform version supports the same JavaScript feature set as the Windows 10 version.

Microsoft used Ubuntu as a Linux distribution in product demonstrations, which indicates that the open source ChakraCore engine is easily converted to other Linux distributions.
