Windows Update is going to change! Add active hours setting

Windows Update is the portal for installing system updates, but there is always such inconvenience in using it, especially the reboot after each patch installation is quite annoying.

Microsoft is also focusing on improving Windows Update in Windows 10 Redstone. The latest internal preview has shown some signs, including on PCs and mobile phones.

The new version adds a setting called "active hours" for Windows Update, which is the time you need to use your PC/mobile phone frequently, for example, from 8 am to 6 pm. During this period, Windows Update will not have any updates or restarts.

Out of this time, when the device is idle, Windows Update will try to check and install the update and then restart.

In addition, you can also set the reboot time after installing the patch. Windows 10 now has this option, but it will only be seen when the patch is waiting for a reboot, and it can be set at any time in the future.

This is just the tip of the iceberg in the large-scale improvement of Windows Update. In the future, more and more user-friendly features will be added gradually.
