Windows10 Redstone's first preview release is coming soon Start pushing a new preview branch

Foreign media WinBeta has heard from many parties that Microsoft will launch the first preview version of RS1 before the end of 2015, meaning that Insider users can upgrade the updated version in a few weeks.

Windows 10 Threshold 2 is a major update, but the scale is far from being comparable to the next Redstone, which will raise the system to the height of "Windows 10.1".

In fact, Microsoft has never talked about Redstone publicly before, but there are many signs and news that it has already started, and now, Microsoft has finally taken the first step.

From now on, Microsoft is pushing a new preview branch for Windows Insider's internal measurement channel, "rs1_release", which is clearly the first wave of Redstone.

You can open the Registry Editor (shortcut Win+R and then type regedit) and look for the following branch:

HKLM>Software>Microsoft>WindowsSelfHost>Applicability

If the right window has an item named "BranchName", the key value is "rs1_release", which means that you are ready to accept the new version.

In fact, before this, users who participated in the internal test inadvertently discovered the trace of “rs1_release”, but could not download it.

Gabriel Aul, the director of Windows Insider internal testing, confirmed its existence, saying it was preparing, but at the same time explained that it is not good now.

This means that Microsoft has not yet decided when to push the first preview version of Redstone, and the features will not be seen too much in the early stages.
