Some Win7/8.1 users can't downgrade to the original system after the upgrade of Win10 TH2 official version.

Microsoft officially pushed the Win10 TH2 annual update on the evening of the 12th, the version is 1511, and the OS version is 10586. Win10 TH2 official version 10586 is the second Win10 official version after Win10 official version 10240, mainly to improve system stability and compatibility, fix a number of bugs, and add some new features.

Foreign media said that some users have recently claimed that after upgrading the Win10 TH2 official version from Win7/Win8.1, they cannot be downgraded to the original system through the system's "return" function. The reason is that Windows 10 has "automatically" deleted the original system backup folder Windows.old.

It is understood that the user C disk space in this case may not be very abundant, so the installer did this "decision" treatment. In this way, if the user finds that the system needs to be downgraded, then the rollback operation cannot be performed within the specified 30 days.

However, Microsoft officials have never said that this method of downgrading will be affected by lack of space, etc., but there is a situation that may trigger this phenomenon. Previously, Microsoft had said that users who upgraded to Win10 official version 10240 within 31 days before Win10 TH2 push will not receive this update push for the time being, in order to give these users enough experience time, so that users are not satisfied. Can smoothly retreat to the original system. However, if these users use the ISO image or the "media creation tool" manually during the 31-day period, it may indicate that they do not want to fall back to the original system, so they will be upgraded to the official version of Win10 TH2. Delete the original backup. This makes it impossible for their system to implement a rollback operation even if it has not been extended for more than 31 days.

If it is really caused by this reason, Microsoft will need to further clarify this matter with the user, or improve the fallback mechanism and continue to retain the original system backup within the time limit. At the same time, relevant users should also make various preparations before deciding to upgrade, or perform the installation operation after fully understanding Win10, so as to avoid unnecessary trouble.
