Windows DVD Player is officially launched. Win7/8.1 users can upgrade for free

In May of this year, Microsoft announced the closure of Windows Media Center (hereafter referred to as WMC), which will no longer provide updates for users, nor will it provide a direct replacement in Windows 10. However, Gabriel Aul, head of Windows Insiders, has sent a tweet that Microsoft will provide a DVD solution for WMC loyal users.

Although few people now watch movies through DVD drives, Microsoft has prepared a new DVD Player for Windows 10 users to replace the previous Windows Media Center.

Now, Microsoft has announced that all Windows users can get DVD Player software. Among them, Windows 7/8.1 users can upgrade for free, while other versions of Windows users need to pay $14.99 to experience.

However, this part of the user is free to use for a limited period of time, but Microsoft did not explain how long the trial period is. Non-Media Center users can purchase the app from the Windows Store, which is priced at $93.5 in the domestic market. As the name of the app says, this is the DVD player for Windows 10 devices.

This is what the app description says: "Windows 10 Windows DVD Player makes it easier to watch your favorite DVDs." This application requires the device to have a DVD drive. ”

If you are upgrading from Windows 7/8.1 with Media Center Media Center to Windows 10, go directly to the Start menu - Upgrade & Security - Check for updates, which can be viewed in the upgrade list Go to the free Windows DVD Player. If you are not eligible for free installation, or an enterprise Windows user, you can go to the Windows Store to purchase the app.
