Microsoft warns: Do not try to install Win10 before July 29th

Win10 officially released soon. Microsoft launched Windows10 Build 10240 to Insider's internal users this morning. Many users plan to install this version completely, or plan to install it again after upgrading from the old version. If you have this idea, then you need to wait.

A netizen asked Twitter's Windows Insider project leader Gabe Aul on Twitter: "The latest ISO image is 10062?" Can I still activate 10162 now? How do I install Win10 completely? & rdquo; In this regard, Gabe Aul said: "We have deleted all ISO images and Keys. A new installation is not supported at this time. Please choose to upgrade (not a new installation) before July 29th.

In order to verify whether the new installation can still be activated normally, Xiao Bian specially installed Build 10162, and then tried to activate with the key provided by Microsoft 8N67H-M3CY9-QT7C4-2TR7M-TXYCV The result ended in failure. Then try to log in with the Microsoft account registered with the Insider. After setting up to accept the member preview, try again and the result still cannot be activated. It seems that Microsoft seems to have closed the online activation of these versions (after the new installation). This problem also exists in Build 10240. According to feedback from users and Gabe Aul's tweets, Build 10240 cannot be activated after a new installation.

Of course, this problem does not occur with the upgrade installation method. Specifically, it is automatically activated after upgrading to Build 10240 by upgrading the installation in an already activated version of the Insider preview. This is also the only formal way to activate Win10.

Microsoft's push for Win10 Build 10240 is to test the Win10 upgrade process, which also includes the activation process. The above results are tested at the time of publication and are not subject to change.

Today IT House provides Win10 Build 10240 homemade Chinese ISO image, also provides the installation key when providing mirroring, and has reminded users that the key is only used for installation, can not activate the system. After downloading this image, the Insider user chooses to upgrade the installation (click setup.exe, keep the personal file upgrade installation), instead of selecting a new installation after formatting, otherwise the system may not be activated.

For genuine Win7/Win8.1 users who want to upgrade Win10 for free, such as Surface Pro 3 users, Microsoft recommends waiting until July 29th to choose an upgrade.
