1. First, Win+R runs, bring up the run box, and enter “gpedit.msc” to open the group policy.

Find: Computer Configuration - Management Template - System - Device Installation - Device Installation Restrictions, as shown.

2, then find on the right side "Block the driver installation device that matches the following device installer class", double-click the right button "Edit" or double-click to open the settings dialog . Tick "“Enabled" and click on “Show” Enter the class GUID of the device (here one thing to note: don't check “ also apply to match installed devices), as shown.

3. As for how to get this kind of GUID? Here to teach you, click on the Start menu, find “ Settings & rdquo;, in the "Settings" form to find "About", click on the right side of the "Device Manager", as shown.

4. In the "Device Manager" that opens, find the device you want to disable. For the convenience of testing, I will use an example of hdmi audio that I have not used yet. as the picture shows.

5. Right click to open the "Properties" dialog box. Go to the Details tab and find the corresponding data in the "Properties:  drop-down list. Simply enter this value in Group Policy. as the picture shows.

6. Return to the group policy dialog that has been opened. Enter the GUID value of the device and click OK. Now we can test the driver update, the effect is as shown in the figure, is it no longer possible to update? This way you don't have to worry about the incompatibility of the new driver.
