Early test version:

Windows 8 DP (Developer Preview): This is the first A public beta (September 13, 2011, version 8102) for developers to help developers experience and adapt to the new development environment in advance. Windows 8 CP (Consumer Preview): This is the first consumer-oriented beta (February 29, 2012, version 8250), released with the new Windows Store to encourage everyone to experience and learn about the new environment. And mode of operation. Windows 8 RP (Release Preview): Release Preview (June 1, 2012), the release of RP marks the end of Windows 8 development, this version is very close to the final official version, the official version may fix some bugs , but basically there will be no functional changes.

All test versions will expire on January 15, 2013.

Official Release:

Windows 8: Standard Edition, not yet released, for home entertainment users. Windows 8 Pro: Professional Edition, not yet released, mainly for technical staff, compared to the standard version of some professional features, such as virtual machines, domain accounts, remote desktop hosting. Windows 8 RT (Runtime): Tablet custom board, not yet released, specially optimized for tablets using ARM chips to save power, ease of use, security and other features. Unlike the two versions above, RT only provides a Metro interface and cannot install legacy applications. Windows 8 China: China customized version, not yet released, the specific features are unknown. If you want to experience Windows 8 now, since the official version has not yet been released, you can download the latest RP version.
