A lot of ATMs in the US and Europe run Windows 7 or unsupported Windows XP. Now the ATM Industry Association has released a formal recommendation that any Windows 7-based device that is awaiting updates should wait for Windows 10, bypassing Windows 8 or 8.1.

When the official version of Windows10 is coming, 95% of the ATM machines in the world are expected to return to fashion, skipping Windows7, Windows8.1, and directly upgrading to Windows10. Although Windows XP has been out of service for more than a year, it still runs the Windows XP system in addition to the US Internal Revenue Service, as well as the entire ATM machine industry.

The ATM Industry Association pointed out in a recent proposal that it plans to upgrade to Windows 10 for ATMs that are still using older versions of the system.

There is no doubt that upgrading Windows 10 to millions of ATMs will be a tedious task, so the ATM Industry Association recommends that equipment vendors begin deploying upgrade strategies as soon as possible.

It is understood that the current ATM machine mainly uses Windows XP system, in addition to some are using Windows7 or Windows CE. Since Microsoft has stopped technical support for Windows XP, upgrading Windows 10 will be more effective in protecting account funds.

It is worth noting that in addition to Windows 10, the availability of the domestic Linux operating system and the Android operating system is also within the scope of the ATM industry association.

The question now is, can Windows 10 enter China smoothly? As early as May 2014, a paper ban directly killed the possibility of Windows 8 in the domestic market, and also let the domestic Linux operating system see the opportunity. If Windows 10 is once again included in the government's banned purchase list, then the domestic ATM machine needs to be upgraded, can the domestic operating system be a big deal? After all, this is related to the financial security of thousands of depositors.
