Windows 10.1 prototype screenshot first exposure: desktop and start menu changes are too big

Windows 10 has not been completed, its upgraded version of RedStone has already entered a substantial development stage. In fact, at the previous Build 2015 conference, Microsoft privately demonstrated some of the design prototypes of RedStone, which was only published today.

According to the latest statement, RedStone will be released in two waves, in the summer and fall of 2016, then will it be called Windows 10.1? Or will it be called Windows 10 Update 1/2?

From this screenshot, at least on the desktop and the start menu, Microsoft made a drastic reform, the change is far from Windows 10, and can be classified as Windows 11 — — Of course, according to the current plan, there will be no Windows 11/12…….

First of all, the taskbar nonsense is the biggest change since the introduction of Windows 95. The overall concept is a serious tribute to Mac OS X. The icons are placed in the middle position instead of the left side, and the rest of the icon can be completely hidden except for the icon. Is it a lot like a Dock?

The Start menu is also a bold innovation based on Windows 10. All the tiles are close together, there is no gap between them, and any tile can be stretched to the width of the entire menu.

There is also a sidebar that resembles a sandwich structure that provides access to more features and settings, while the top of the start menu is the icon set for the desktop app.

If the interactive tile can't be implemented in Windows 10 (it's more difficult now), there will definitely be an upgrade. Users can directly control music playback and like Weibo without launching the app.

There is also a new "Tile-in-Tile"; the start menu and the start screen of the unified application or category of tiles (such as Office), will be automatically assigned to a group, the size is smaller There are descriptions of them at the bottom, but each application can be launched directly without first opening the folder.

Of course, these are the early prototypes or conceptual designs of RedStone, which represent only some preliminary ideas from the brainstorming of developers, which may not be realized, depending on the development progress and user feedback. .
