Microsoft has quietly prepared for Win7/8 to upgrade Windows 10

Although it is too early to officially release Windows 10, Microsoft has begun to prepare for the Windows 7/8.1 user upgrade. Microsoft quietly launched the KB3035583 update for Windows 7/8.1, with detailed information showing how Microsoft is trying to convince users to update to Windows 10. Microsoft officially described the KB3035583 update as "Windows update notifications, which can be used to provide users with new updates", which sounds common.

But there are good people who dig deep into the files and see the file named GWXUXWorker.exe. After further checking, the actual function of this exe is to download Windows 10, so the actual function of this update is notification and download. Windows 10.

In addition, in this updated config.xml file, there are some quite interesting tidbits showing how Microsoft persuaded users to upgrade to Windows 10 at different stages. At the stage of “None”, nothing will be displayed. In the “AnticipationUX” phase, the Windows 8.1 tile main screen will display the Windows 10 banner, and the corresponding notification will appear in the system notification area. The reservation page will be added in the “Reserve” phase, in addition to RTM and GA (generally Availability) release phase.
