The Win8 system customizes the icon cache space size by modifying the registration.

Users who use the Win8 system are not satisfied with the default icon cache size of the system. They want to set the icon cache by themselves, but do not know how to set it. This can be achieved by modifying the registry, as follows.

Operation steps

In the first step, press Win+R, enter “ldedit” in the running command that appears, and press Enter.

The second step, in the registry editor interface that appears, click to select the root key "Computer", and then click "Edit", click on the drop-down menu and select "Look" & rdquo;.

The third step, in the search interface that appears, enter "Max Cached Icons" in the search target, and then press Enter.

In the fourth step, there will be a search interface in the registry, no need to worry about him.

In the fifth step, the result will be found after a search, and will be automatically selected, double-click the selected string name.

Step 6. In the Edit DWORD (32-bit) value dialog box that appears, click to select “decimal” then enter the size we want to set in the numeric data, then click OK.

Tips: The decimal value is calculated by Kb, the value range is 100-8192, and the default is 2000.

The above is the Win8 system custom icon cache size operation method. In addition, if you need to clear the Win8 system cache file, you can look at the "Win8 how to use the batch delete cache file" tutorial.
