windows 9 new video exposure: notification center similar Android

WinFuture posted a video to YouTube on Saturday, Windows 9 will provide Unified notification center features.

In this video, when the user clicks the taskbar button, a new unified notification center appears in the lower right corner of the screen. This notification center seems to support Windows' current "toast" notifications to help users view recent notification messages from all apps.

This notification center is similar to the notification systems for Android, iOS, and OS X. All notifications are categorized by application and users can pull down to see more messages. With the “all close" button, users can ignore all notifications with one click. Of course, users can also ignore notifications one by one.

This is the latest outbound video of Microsoft's next-generation desktop operating system. Last Friday, WinFuture also released another video showing that Windows 9 supports multiple desktop features.

It is unclear how much control users have on the notification center and how many notifications the notification center can display. These details may be revealed soon. There are reports that Microsoft will release a technical preview of Windows 9 in the next two months.
