How to delete desktop shortcut arrow

You can use the "Tweak UI" utility to solve this problem. The original Windows 98 CD comes with the Tweak UI utility. The location of the Tweak UI is on the CD:

On the "tweakui.inf" file, right click and select "Install" to start the installation. After installation, a new Tweak UI option will be added to the control panel, which has a number of settings that let you customize Windows.

After activating Tweak UI, switch to the "Explore" tab and select "None" in "Shortcut Ovrlay" to cancel the small arrow on the shortcut.

Windows 98 Second Edition may not have the "Tweak UI" utility. You can use Windows 98 (first edition) Tweak UI on Windows 98 Second Edition.

Users of Me:

You can download Tweakui for Win Me from Microsoft's website at: www.microsoft.com/windowsme/guide/tweakui.exe

This is a self-extracting file. After unpacking, right click on tweakui.inf to install it, ie install tweakui, then there will be one more tweakui icon in your control panel.

Tweakui is a tool for advanced users. I hope you use it carefully. If you are not familiar with the basic operations of Windows, I do not recommend using this tool.

TweakUI does not have a Chinese version. (The so-called Chinese version is "enthusiasm" Chinese version of the English version, Microsoft did not launch the Chinese version of TweakUI)

Note:

Another way is to modify the registry to achieve .

Off-topic, I have been wondering why so many people have been trying to remove this arrow on the shortcut. I think this arrow is okay. Does it matter? It has no effect on me personally.
