Install Windows XP Professional on the client

At this point, we have completed the configuration of RIS. If your client meets the PC98 0.6 specification, or if your computer is configured with a PXE boot chip NIC, you can use the RIS Remote Install service to install Windows XP Professional. The general process is as follows:

1. Turn on the power of the computer. After the CMOS self-test, the F12 button will appear, prompting from the network.

2. Press F12 and press Enter in the first dialog box

3. Enter a username at “User name: This username needs to have a computer Add permissions to the domain. In general, use an administrator account. Enter the password for this user at “Password:”, enter the name of the domain in “Domain name:” and press Enter to proceed to the next screen.

4. If you want to install completely automatically, please select the first item "Automatic Setup". If you want to customize the installation, please select the second item "Custom Setup" if you have errors in the previous installation. If you want to continue the installation, please select the third item "Restart a Previous Setup Attempt." Whether you choose a fully automated installation or a custom installation, we don't need to enter too much information. Here we take the second item as an example. Select the second item and press the Enter key to go to the next screen. Press the Enter key directly in this interface.

5. The configuration files we added above will be displayed on the screen. There are two profiles, one is to re-partition the computer, and the other is to keep the hard disk installed.

6. If you choose the second item "Microsoft Windows XP Professional, the installer will automatically install Windows XP on the client computer, and divide the computer's hard disk into a partition, all the data on the hard disk at this time. Will be lost, if your machine is a brand new one, you can choose this one.

If you select the first item "Windows Professional-no par", during the process of installing Windows XP, the installer will prompt you to choose to install Windows XP on that partition. At this time, the computer's hard disk will not be Repartition.

7. In the future, follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows XP.

8. After the installation is complete, log in to the domain with your username and password. Under Group Policy configuration, the application will be installed and data will be automatically restored for you.
