Microsoft: Office Mobile requires an Office 365 subscription to use Continuum

Computer Store News: Continuum is an exciting new feature that Windows 10 Mobile brings to us, allowing users to turn their phones into a handheld computer. With the support of Continuum, users connect their phones to the display, keyboard and mouse via the Display Dock, enabling some mobile apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Edge to get a desktop-like experience. Continuum is indeed a very desirable feature on Windows 10 Mobile, and the Office app will undoubtedly be the biggest beneficiary of the mobile phone Continuum and the productivity app for the Continuum feature.
Currently, Office apps can use Continuum without an Office 365 subscription. However, starting in April 2016, Microsoft will require users to purchase an Office 365 subscription before they can use the mobile phone Continuum. Kirk Koenigsbauer, vice president of the Microsoft Office team, said in a blog post today: In mobile Continuum mode, editing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will require an Office 365 subscription, but you won't need an Office 365 subscription until March 31, 2016. Continuum. Obviously this is not a good idea for us. Microsoft needs to promote Windows 10 Mobile and Continuum new features, rather than rush to sell Office 365. I hope that Microsoft will change its mind before April 2016.
