Not convinced, Windows still dominates the world

Computer Store News: According to statistics released by market research firm Net Applications, Windows is still the world's number one operating system, and it will be difficult to break in the future, because now it is Mac OS X or Linux operation. The market share of the system is not enough to pose a threat to Microsoft's Windows platform.

Specifically, as of October 2015, Windows market share is still as high as 90.42%, while Mac OS X has a share of 8.00% and Linux has only 1.57%.

There have been various remarks that 90% of the market share will be a major milestone for Windows. If it falls below this number, there will be a sharp decline, which will It was the beginning of the fall of the Microsoft software empire. However, in terms of market share, at least the difference between the current Windows operating system and other competitors is still very large.

Of course, Windows’ market share has indeed fallen slightly (0.12%), but many statistics this year show no signs of a sharp decline, at least not yet.

Statistics show that since February this year, Windows has continued to decline. At that time, there was a market share of 91.57%. In the second month, it fell to 91.22%. The next few months are falling month by month. The trend was that by July, the market share had dropped by 90.65%. However, when Microsoft's operating system Windows 10 was officially released, the market share increased to 90.84%, which was only down to 90.54% last month.

Windows is black, or not down sharply

As early as 2012, analysts, experts and many users unanimously predicted that Windows would experience a sharp decline, because Microsoft released A lot of operating system: Windows 8, the system is completely deducted with the hat of the second Windows Vista operating system, will not succeed. Analysts believe that more users will flee the Microsoft platform and start looking for alternatives that they are more interested in, such as Linux and OS X.

The same thing happened at the beginning of this year, when Microsoft held a preview conference for Windows 10. Many experts stood up and criticized Microsoft for collecting improper information about users' computers. The privacy scandal will affect the growth of Windows 10. The version will be the first step in getting Windows into a difficult situation. But it is clear that such a thing has not happened, and the market share figures also explain everything.

In September, two months after the Windows 10 operating system was released, the market share reached 6.63%, and now it has risen further by 1.31% to 7.94% in October. In fact, in August after the official release of Windows 10, its share has soared to 5%.

Although the increase is not very large, the decline in the share of other versions of Windows in the case of the overall market share of Windows indicates that many users are starting to migrate to Windows 10 systems. Since the market share of this system is growing, how can Windows overall decline sharply in a short period of time?

In addition, Microsoft previously said that Windows 10 installed more than 110 million devices, and the goal is to reach 1 billion in the next two or three years.
