The number of Win10 start menu items cannot exceed 512

Computer Store News: Some Windows 10 users may add a large number of applications and related features to their Start menu, but if the number of these items exceeds 512, the application will disappear or crash a lot.

According to foreign media Petri, as long as the number of any item in the user's start menu exceeds 512, the bug will be triggered, and a magnetic containing 512 sub-items will be added to the start menu. Posting a folder can also cause the bug to appear:

Once the number of items exceeds 512, if you click on the Start menu again, the results will be inconsistent with the previous ones, and the difference will be very large. At the time, my start menu was delayed for up to 15 seconds. Sometimes clicking “All apps” would cause the Start menu to crash, and some applications in the Start menu disappeared for no reason. Sometimes the start menu is completely unopened, even if you click it many times, you still can't display it. You must restart your computer to open the start menu again.

Users only need to delete the folder and extra items from the start menu to solve the above problem. Microsoft is currently addressing the issue, but has not yet made it clear that the bug will be fixed.
