Win10 Mobile Preview Edition 10512 Known Issues at a Glance

Computer Store News: Microsoft finally pushed the Win10 Mobile Preview 10512 Express Edition update to Windows Insider members today. This update brings a series of new features, compared to 10166 has been greatly improved, but before you update, please read the following issues in this version:

  1. The mobile hotspot feature is not available. When using "mobile hotspots" to share a mobile network, other devices will not be able to get a valid IP address from your phone and display no network access.
  2. The two-factor authentication feature for the Microsoft Service Agreement is not available in this release. If you reset your phone and use it for the first time, you will not be able to enter more than 2 characters when verifying your phone or verifying your text message. If you have an alternate mailbox for two-factor authentication, you can choose that mailbox. A workaround for this issue is to add an alternate mailbox for two-factor authentication.
  3. Some phones may take a long time during the upgrade. You just need to sit and relax and wait slowly.
  4. Applications that use background music, such as Groove Music, Podcast, Pandora, etc., are prone to crashes when they are first launched after the update. Restart the phone to resolve the issue.
  5. Some phones with large dynamic tiles fixed on the start screen may get stuck when the device is "loading" status; these devices will need to be reset or rolled back to Windows Phone Recovery Tool to WP8.1.
  6. Some apps may encounter an upgrade failure error with error code 0x80073cf9 when updating through the app store; uninstalling the app reload will resolve the issue.
  7. The Movies & TV app doesn't work in Build 10512 (currently video playback is not available).
