Microsoft plans to release: "Office 365 Planner"

Computer Store News: As part of a new productivity-focused strategy, Microsoft is continually acquiring new mobile apps, and after acquiring Accompli and Sunrise, Microsoft yesterday announced the acquisition of the Wonderful Inventory Task Management application. Microsoft already has several task management tools, such as OneNote, SharePoint Tasks, Outlook Tasks, and now a clever list. It seems that Microsoft is also developing a new enterprise-oriented application/service called “Planner”. Based on the Office Graph, Planner is a lightweight task management tool for Office 365.

Mary Jo Foley gives an overview of Planner:

Another source from me is that the upcoming Office 365 Planner portal is similar to Trello Inc.'s popular Trello project. Manager. Users can link their documents to specific tasks, projects, and/or Yammer conversations. There are multiple options for various views, such as project status or calendar view (similar to a user processing a task in SharePoint).

Microsoft recently announced that the Wonderful List will be integrated with Sunrise and will share more integration updates in the coming months.
