Win10: The Fusion of Win 8 and Win 7 Advantages

Computer Store News: Microsoft will release Windows 10 in the next few months, and those who have been using Windows 8 can finally breathe fresh air. Windows 8 is a bold step taken by Microsoft. The Windows 8 operating system is a bridge between modern and traditional computing environments. It brings a new application store to Microsoft and introduces a new generation of devices, powered by ARM processors instead of Intel or AMD's processor.

The Windows 8 error started by deleting the Start menu and using the Hot Corners & rdquo; hotkey feature. Microsoft's idea is that the start screen will replace the menu, remove the start button, and leave more room for the taskbar so that more applications can be rendered. But whether it's Hot Corners or the start screen, consumers rely on intuition, especially from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Users need to spend a lot of time to adapt. Windows 8 is just a move for Microsoft to pick up its own feet.

Start Buttons

Since the Windows 95 era, Microsoft has been trying to change the way consumers use Windows. The start screen replacement start menu proved to be a disaster, and it was difficult for consumers to accept a direct jump from the desktop to the full screen menu. Removing the start button causes consumers to always ask "Where is the start button?", but Microsoft's answer is a long explanation explaining how to use the start screen correctly.

Hot Corners is a good idea, but it's very bad in operation. Hot Corners launches the sidebar very smoothly, but often leads to unexpected operations, especially when you click the "Return" button on the web browser.

But the worst thing is to remove the start button, and for the new Hot Corners and the new start screen, Windows 8 doesn't provide any out-of-the-box tutorials. Nothing, ask consumers to get it. clear. This is by no means a good way when you change a way of interacting for 20 years.

After the release of Windows 8, Microsoft placed high hopes on the Windows store, providing incentives for developers to create more Windows apps and less OS X /iOS and Android apps. But after about two and a half years, the Windows Store became a specialty store for file compression applications, and some low-profile software lags far behind other app stores. If you need further evidence, look at the picture above.

And on Windows 10, the Windows Store has come up with new ways to launch universal applications, but Microsoft can't guarantee success. First, Microsoft wants to convince the world that Windows 10 is a new system that is widely accepted (and loved). If you can do this, you might be able to attract big-name developers.

Maybe we should call it Windows RT

The biggest failure is after Windows 8, and Windows RT is released. Frankly speaking, Windows RT is a good idea, but implementation and branding is a huge mistake, causing consumers to be confused. Windows RT should be a modern computing environment that removes some of the inappropriate content from Windows. There is no fear of viruses or malware, but the legacy application cannot be run, causing the entire plan to fail.

The fault that Windows stores need to make up for is that Windows RT can't run older apps. Microsoft created a new version of Office for Windows RT (free) to meet the productivity needs of these devices.

However, as mentioned above, it is difficult for Windows stores to find high-quality applications so that consumers can only use third-party counterfeit software on their brand new Surface RT or Surface 2.

And Windows RT has two other major issues: the brand and Intel. Windows RT confuses consumers, and Microsoft has not clearly pointed out the difference between Windows RT and Windows 8, but in the face of Intel, the situation has become more passive.

ARM is seen as a way to create low-cost tablets to compete with Android, but Intel has also found a way to use their Atom processor to maintain its performance and reduce heat. It is expected to replace ARM. The result is that the market is full of ARM tablets and x86 /x64 tablets, the price is at the same level, the specifications are almost the same, but the Intel chip tablet can run legacy applications and ARM devices can not do this.

After a one-to-one comparison, why did you choose a Windows RT device instead of a Windows 8 device?

Speaking of doing this, you have to mention Windows Phone 8. Although not as unfamiliar as Windows 8, its changes have always been a disaster for users. If you remember, Windows Phone 8 is almost a cut-off with Windows Phone 7, a new operating system, but still only about 4% of the market share, and when it comes to iOS and Android, it is always negligible and huge.

Microsoft is trying to correct these problems with Windows 8. For Windows RT, they renamed Surface RT to Surface 1 (or just Surface); for Windows 8, they then released 8.1, restored the start button (but not the menu), and the new shortcuts are friendly to the mouse and keyboard. Improved the handling of hot corners and finally added a tutorial on how to better use the operating system.

The end result of Windows 8 is that two executives lost their jobs: Steven · Sinovsky, Steve & Bull; Ballmer. The two executives and Windows 8 came to an end. Seeing the failure of Windows 8, it is not difficult to understand their situation.

Windows 10 will come soon, and Microsoft hopes that users will forget the unpleasantness caused by Windows 8, return to the classic desktop experience and feel like Windows 7. Microsoft's next-generation operating system comes with many of the success features on Windows 8 and Windows 7.
