This is also the second cumulative feature update for the Win8.1 platform, and will continue to improve the active Win8.1 platform, with similar monthly updates coming out later.

According to Microsoft's official blog, Microsoft did not intend to launch the rumored "Win8.1 Update2", but continued to update the server through Windows Update to update system features, security updates and other content. This also means that major features and new features will not be experienced until the next generation of Win9.


At the same time, this Win8.1 August update is also an optional update package, does not force users to install upgrades, is expected to start next week's "Patch Tuesday".

In terms of function improvement, the Win8.1 August update specifically includes the following contents:

1. Improved touch version: Add three setting options for the end user (disconnect when connecting the mouse) Control version, support touch version right click, double click drag effect)

2, Miracast receiver: announced a set of Wi-Fi Direct APIs interface for independent hardware supplier (IHV) driver /OEM driver Used to develop Windows 32-bit applications, ensuring that it runs on Win8.1 x86/x64 full platform and acts as a Miracast receiver.

3, reduce SharePoint Online login reminder: reduce the number of login reminders when accessing SharePoint Online website. If you log in for the first time, the user will check the “Keep in login” prompt box, and the login reminder will not appear in the future.

This August update will be completed through Windows Update auto-push, offline update package, etc., specifically to see the results on August 12.
