The US PC market is saturated. The user replacement rate will determine the speed of Win8 development

Computer Store News: According to the latest survey report released by IDC, the PC market is becoming saturated and enterprise users are switching to Windows 7 systems. This will become a major obstacle in the way of Windows 8. Market saturation means that the upgrade cycle will become longer and longer. IDC's Bob O'Donnell said, "The US market is 100% saturated. So the development of it (Win8) will be 100% dependent on (PC) replacement. As you increase the life cycle of your equipment, your replacement rate will have a significant impact on sales. ”

O'Donnell pointed out that consumers who don't plan to buy Win8 PCs at the moment are ultimately waiting for a favorite tablet instead of a PC.

At the same time, enterprise users in the US market have chosen to upgrade their systems to Win7 instead of the latest Win8. This also seriously hindered the development of Win8 in the market. O'Donnell revealed that in his conversations with Dell and Hewlett-Packard, he found that most of their corporate users chose to purchase the Win7 system.
