Windows 8 problem has dragged down the entire industry

Computer store news: Microsoft released Windows 8 last October is a tablet-oriented operating system, not suitable for running on a desktop computer. According to data released by market research companies, PC sales were lower than the previous year for the first time in five years.

Although a significant portion of PC sales declines are due to the purchase of tablets, we must also acknowledge that Windows 8 is also a factor in the decline in PC sales.

I have written similar articles before, but one thing may not be enough: Windows 8 is not suitable for running on a desktop computer. First, Windows 8 is designed to be a touch screen device, while desktop computers rarely have a touch screen.

To make matters worse, it pays attention to the full-screen mode application that does not support "open window". This means that if the computer is equipped with a 27-inch display, one application will also fill the entire display, and there is no way to reduce the display area it occupies.

This is at least a bit clumsy. This is not the only problem that Windows 8 brings to Microsoft, and investors are worried about the company's decision.

When everyone realizes that Windows 8 is not a successful successor to Windows 7, how many people will accept Windows 8?

Microsoft also insists on using a poor, often controversial ranking system to evaluate employees and executives. Does this affect Microsoft's decision-making process? maybe.

This makes everyone concerned about Microsoft worry. Despite Microsoft's talent, its management structure makes it easy to make some weird decisions, such as running Windows 8 on a desktop computer.

The bigger problem is that Windows 8 has affected the entire IT industry. Sales of hard drives, components, etc. were also affected when PC sales fell.

Unfortunately, this is another problem with Microsoft. It never apologizes, stubbornly believes that its products are excellent and innovative products.

Windows 8 uses the same kernel as Windows 7. Despite supporting the traditional Windows 7-like interface, Windows 8 expects users to use the new "Metro" interface.

Microsoft must modify Windows 8, and abandon the "Metro" interface to enable Windows 8 to enter traditional desktop mode after booting.

Microsoft should immediately begin developing Windows 8 Upgrade Windows 8.1. Microsoft has not released such an operating system upgrade version for many years. Windows 8.1 should cancel the touch operation and the Metro interface, and should also cancel applications that only support full screen mode.

Make Windows 8 and Windows 7 so different. Does Microsoft think this decision is correct? Why do Microsoft engineers make such decisions? This is an insult to customers who support Windows 7.
