Remotely view Win2003 log files and find out why the server is down

We will record today's work items on the logbook to better perform our work tasks. You certainly didn't think that in our daily computer, Windows also has a logbook like ours, which is the —— log file. The log file records every detail of the Windows system and plays a vital role in the stable operation of Windows. By looking at the Windows logs in the server, we can find out the cause of the server failure. In general, we view the log files mostly in the local view, but because the current LAN size is relatively large, sometimes it will inevitably encounter various urgent situations, so that we can not stay at the server every night and night. So, can we view it remotely? Of course, as long as we use the Web access interface provided by Windows 2003, we can solve this problem. In fact, remotely viewing the log records of Windows 2003 servers is very simple. First, run the IE browser on a remote client (Windows 98/2000/XP/2003). In the address bar, enter “https://Win2003 server IP address: 8098”, such as “https://192.168.0.1:8098”. In the login dialog box that pops up, enter the administrator's username and password, and click the “OK” button to log in to the web access interface management interface. Second, click on the “Maintenance” link in the “Welcome” section, switch to the “Maintenance” page, and then click the “Log” link to go to the log management page. In the log management page, we can view, download or clear the Windows 2003 server logs. All log categories of Windows 2003 servers, such as application logs, security logs, system logs, and web management logs, can be listed in the log management page. Next, let's try to view some kind of log records. The author takes the Web management blog as an example. Click the “Web Management Log” link to enter the log view page, select the log file to be viewed in the log file list box, and then select the log file to be viewed. Click on the "View Logs" button on the right to view the details in the Web Administration Logging. Finally, if you want to clear a log file, the steps are also very simple. After selecting the log file, click the “Clear” button. If you want your system to run more stable, you can try the above method, and flip the log file. This is a logbook. It can help you find out the cause of your computer server failure. If you feel that remote viewing of logs is inconvenient and you want to view them on your local machine, you can download the log files to your local hard drive. Select a log file, and then click the “download log” button, click the “Save” button in the pop-up "File Download" dialog box and specify the storage path.
