The default settings of the Windows Server 2003 operating system are mostly configured according to the needs of the server. It only provides the components and management tools on the server. Windows Server 2003 Auto Login

Each time you start Windows Server 2003, you will be asked to press the “Ctrl+Alt+Del” key on the keyboard (Figure 1), then enter Username and password are required to log in to the system. For the server, this helps to improve the security of the system; but for individual users, this is a bit of a hassle. So, the first thing we have to do is to change the system to automatic login. To do this we have two options.


The first method is more complicated, but it gives you complete control over how to set up Windows Server 2003 automatic login. First click “ start| Run ” and type “regedit” in the "Open” input box to run the Registry Editor. Then in the Registry Editor, click to expand “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/Winlogon”, select “edit| Add ”, select “string value”, type “AutoAdminLogon” in the value name, then click the mouse in the blank position in the window, then double-click the newly created string “AutoAdminLogon”, in the pop-up In the Edit String ” dialog box, enter “1” to set the system to allow automatic login.

Repeat the above operation to create a string value called "DefaultUserName", edit the string, and enter the name of the account you are going to use for automatic login. Create a new string value called "Defaultpassword" and edit the characters to enter the user account password that is ready for automatic login. After editing and checking for no errors, close the registry editor and restart the computer to log in automatically.

Note that if you have "DefaultUserName", you can change the original string value without re-creating. If your system works in a LAN environment and you need to log in when you log in to the system. For the domain server, you also need to add another “Default DomainName” string and enter the domain name of the login.

The second method is relatively simple, you only need to click “ start| Run ”, type “control userpasswords2” in the "Open” input box, so you can clear the <quo;Users must enter the password> checkbox in the "User Account" Management window , and then press the keyboard's "Ctrl+Shift+A” will get a "automatic login" dialog box (Figure 2), you can set the system to automatically log in when the computer starts up. Windows Server 2003 Creating a New User Account

To create a new user account, you need to click “Start| Management Tools & rdquo;, select "Computer Management", in the "Computer Management" window, click on the left "Local Users and Groups", expand to the "Users" location. Click “new user” on the “Actions" menu, then type the username, password, and then clear in the pop-up “new user” dialog box. Change the password & check box to the selected state (Figure 3), click the “Create” button, then click the “Close” button to close the dialog.


After creating a new user account, we also need to give it administrator privileges, which is more convenient to use later. Double-click the newly created user account name, click the <quo;subsidiary" tab in the pop-up "User Properties" dialog box, and click the "Add" button. Click the “Advanced” button in the “Select Group& rdquo; dialog box, and then click the “Find Now” button to select “Administrators” in the found user group name, and click “ The “ button closes the open dialog box and returns to the "Computer Management" window, which completes the creation of new user accounts and the management of permissions.

Windows Server 2003 prohibits event tracking when shutting down the computer

Whenever Windows Server 2003 shuts down, it displays the shutdown event tracking program, asking for the reason for shutting down or restarting the computer (see figure 4). Collecting information about the reason for the shutdown is very useful for the server, but it is too much trouble for individual users, so we have to close this program.
