Deploying RemoteApp to implement remote call of the application

The deployment of the application in the LAN has caused many administrators to have a headache. Repeating the monotonous work is not only time-consuming but also a great test of human patience. Although we can build a RIS server to simplify the work, due to the different operating environment of the client, the subsequent workload is very large. However, a new feature is provided in Windows Server 2008, the so-called TS RemoteApp. With this feature, administrators only need to deploy on the server side, the client can call the server-side program just like running the application locally, and these applications are actually running on the server, not costing the client. system resource. Below, the author combines the example to deploy and test the TS RemoteApp application on Windows Server 2008.

To implement TS RemoteApp, first make sure that your Windows Server 2008 server has Terminal Services installed, and you need to open Remote Desktop. Let's complete the related preparations. First, we configure Terminal Services for Windows Server 2008: Click "Start" → "Administrative Tools" → "Server Manager" to open the server management tool. First click on "Role" in the left pane, then click on "Add Role" on the right to bring up the Add Role Wizard. Select "Terminal Services" in the role list, and then click "Next" to keep the installation of Terminal Services by default. It should be noted that "Terminal Services" is associated with "Web Server", "Network Policy and Access Service" and "File Service", and these roles are also installed during the installation of Terminal Services. Therefore, we can complete the installation of these roles by default during the installation process. After these related roles are installed, they are still in a suspended state, and only the Windows Server 2008 server must restart these roles to take effect. In addition, it should be noted that Terminal Services requires a Terminal Services license. If your terminal server does not have a Terminal Services license installed, it can only be used for 120 days. (Figure 1)

As for the remote desktop is very simple, you can do this: right click on the "Computer" icon on the desktop, select "Properties" to open the system properties window, click left Under the "Tasks" side of the "Remote Settings" navigate to the "Remote" tab of the system properties panel, then click "Remote Desktop" under "Allow only computers running remote authentication with network authentication", and finally click "OK".
