How to use USB portable storage under Win 2003

Nowadays, the portable memory of the USB port (hereinafter referred to as the U disk) is becoming more and more popular. On the one hand, the floppy disk and the floppy disk are less and less able to meet our needs due to the small capacity and reliability; on the other hand, the U disk is coming. The better the use, not only the large capacity, but also the special drivers on Windows 2000 and Windows XP are not installed, you can use them directly. However, under Windows Server 2003, the situation is somewhat different. Because by default we put the USB drive into the USB port of the Windows Server 2003 computer. In the case of being recognized, "My computer" does not see the drive letter of the U disk.

This is a design feature that can be solved like this:

After inserting the USB flash drive into the computer, enter "ldmg;diskmgmt.msc" in the run and press Enter to open the disk management program. We can already see that the inserted USB flash drive has been recognized by the computer, but for some reason it is not displayed in  My Computer". So what we have to do is assign a valid drive letter to the inserted USB flash drive.

Right-click on the USB flash drive, then select “change the drive letter or path in the right-click menu, and then click “Add” to assign a drive letter to the USB drive, then confirm and exit the disk management. program.

Reopen my computer and see, the "lost"> U disk is displayed and can be used normally.
