Win 2003 easily recognizes foreign devices

Windows Server 2003 is Microsoft's latest operating system, but one thing that makes users more embarrassed is that when using different USB flash drives or hard disks that are already in existence when the system is installed, sometimes it is recognized, sometimes recognized may not. For example, after we connect a model USB flash drive or a hard disk to the machine, the hard disk also turns, and the USB flash drive lights up, but I can't see it in my computer, of course I can't operate it, and we have joined it. USB flash drive or hard drive is good, how to deal with this situation?

In fact, it is easy to make Windows Server 2003 recognize a USB flash drive or a mobile hard disk. The method is to open the [Start] menu - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management, in the left side of the computer management window, select Disk Management, the right side of the window will appear the same "good state (active)" and USB flash drive Or the mobile hard drive is listed by the system.

Right click on the newly discovered "Good (Active)" device icon and select "Change drive letter and path (C
)", the window shown in Figure 1 will pop up. There is nothing in the window (an offline state).

Click "Add" in the window, the window shown in Figure 2 pops up, select the destination drive letter from the combination drop-down menu on the right side of the window (usually select the first one, also the default drive letter) , and then click the [OK] button, the system will automatically add mobile storage devices.

At this point, if you go back to the first step and select "Change drive letter and path (C
)", you can see that the original window has a new one. The drive letter (the storage device is activated), this drive letter is the USB flash drive or hard disk just accessed. Open [My Computer] and find that the USB flash drive or hard disk has appeared, and it can be used in a generous manner.
