Troubleshooting steps: 1. Clear the NetBIOS cache by entering the following command at the command prompt of the client in question. NBTstat -RR 3. Disable and enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP. a. Right click on “Network Neighborhood&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& b. Double-click “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”→“Advanced”→ “WINS”, under NETBIOS settings, select “Disable NetBIOS on TCP/IP", click twice“ OK”. c. Close the Local Area Connection window. d. Restart the computer, repeat the above steps, and select “Enable NetBIOS on TCP/IP”. 4. Check the status of the "computer browser" service. If the computer browser "service is “stop” status, install the following steps to enable the service. If the service is already enabled, stop the service and restart the service. a. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Manage. b. In the console tree, expand "Services & Applications". c. Click Services. d. In the details pane on the right, check to see if the “Computer Browser” service has started, right-click Computer Browser, and then click Start. e.
